Why did I become a personal trainer? Fitness and health have always been important to me and it has become more important with the years. I always participated in sports when I was younger and I continued on with fitness and working out in the gym when I left school. I have always been passionate about keeping myself fit and took part in 10 km runs and Marathons. I have always tried hard to take regular exercise and eat a sensible, balanced diet. However, a demanding job and a busy social life got in the way of this ideal life!

I was offered part-time work as a fitness  instructor in one of the largest gym chains in the world in 1997. From there, I looked deeper into fitness and general health. No longer was I satisfied with sculpting muscles; being physically fit and health became equally important, if not more so. I started boxing training for several years and fought in several amateur matches. The intensive training  involved made me realize what was needed to become fit and healthy and reach for peak condition. Whilst I was training for boxing matches I trained 3 times a day 5 times a week, of which a lot was cardio vascular and endurance training. (Conditioning) During my boxing training I was introduced to Kettlebell training for strength and endurance training. This training pushed me to my limits and increased my fitness by 100%.

Working With You

My clients vary from young boxers to pensioners. Each fitness programme is tailored toward the client’s needs and capabilities. These needs and capabilities are reviewed on a continuous basis. This is an important part of my fitness programmes. When exercise becomes monotonous, both clients and PT\\\'s lose motivation and won’t book any results. As anyone will tell you pushing weights and running on a treadmill at least 3 times a week, will become boring even for the person with the highest boredom threshold

Getting Involved

My concept is working together as I want you to be able to achieve all that I can do and more! So where possible I train alongside my client which creates healthy competition and motivation. I\\\'m not a trainer who\\\'s seen to simply stand next to their clients whilst they are doing all the work. I like to get involved and make the session fun and create a sense of achievement and progression. When you book your time with me, it is 100% your time and this time is purely dedicated to YOU to reach your goals and ME to ensure you get there by motivating you to work beyond your comfort zone.

The majority of my clients like training outside where we do circuit training, muscular strength and endurance training, body conditioning and functional training.I train using Kettle bells, Bodyweight, Free weights,TRX ( suspension cables) , Resistance bands, Sledge hammers, Tornado balls and Bulgarian and Sandbags. All these approaches are interlinked to achieve and reach your goals.

Circuit training is an excellent way to improve fitness and improve strength that can be done in a gym, outdoors in a park or in your home. It is traditionally a set of aerobic and strength exercises carried out at a set amount of stations, for a set time, usually one or two minutes, before moving on to the next station.

Strength Training Strength training is an essential element of fitness for virtually every sports man and woman. Long gone are the days when Personal Trainers believed resistance exercises only added unnecessary bulk to the athlete, hindering their ability to execute skill.

Endurance Training and Speed Training Speed endurance drills help maintain a higher work rate for longer and pushes the fitness barriers beyond clients expectations. This form of training is excellent for improving and progressing performance in sports specific clients. Any athlete that is required to repeat high intensity sprints in quick succession can benefit from this type of training e.g football, rugby squash, tennis etc.
